Speed checks conducted |
||
|
Good morning,
Our PCSOs were out in your wards on the 24th of October 2025 conducting random, hi-visibility speed checks on roads where speeding is most reported. We are grateful to report that the majority of road users were driving sensibly within the speed limit and only some were found driving above the posted speed limit. Below are the results of their day.
Rough Common 5 vehicles out of 103 were recorded to be speeding and will be receiving an advisory letter under the speed watch scheme.
Stone Street 0 vehicles out of 72 were recorded to be speeding. All vehicles captured were within a sensible speed limit.
Stodmarsh Road 10 vehicles out of 127 were recorded to be speeding and will be receiving an advisory letter under the speed watch scheme.
Speedwatch is a scheme where community volunteers help reduce excessive speeds on their local roads without penalising drivers. Operating at the roadside in 20mph, 30mph and 40mph limits, registered volunteers monitor speeds using a speed indication device (SID).
